DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- The driver of a city bus that hit a blind man in downtown Des Moines has been ticketed for failure to have control of the vehicle.
Susan Jane Leveke-Meyers, who was fined $96, was involved in eight other on-the-job accidents.
Brad Miller of the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority says those "preventable" accidents can range from clipping a pole with a mirror to bumping a garage door. None of Leveke-Meyers' previous accidents involved an injury to pedestrians, riders or herself.
The bus hit Roger Christenson Wednesday morning. Police say he had the right of way. A hospital spokesman says Christenson remained in critical condition on Thursday.
